Proportion can mean many different things. It can mean the amount of one thing that equals another, a portion or part in relation to its whole, or even dimensions and size!

In engineering drawing, proportion drawing is mainly about how something looks. Does the drawing look correct in relation to the finished part? Are the sides the right sort of length compared to the rest of the drawing? If something doesn’t look right, it is probably out of proportion!
